3 September 2012 - Aurecon is recognised for bringing excellence and expertise in the management and delivery of programmes and projects across a range of industries – both in the private and public sector.

As an industry leader in this field, Aurecon has committed its support by signing on as a Platinum Sponsor for the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) Queensland State Conference, being held in Brisbane on 6 September.

At the conference, Dr Peter Steer, Health Service Chief Executive, Children’s Health Queensland will deliver a key note presentation on the AUD 1.5 billion Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH) development. Co-presenting with Dr Steer will be Graeme McKenzie and Matt Skeen who lead Aurecon’s team that is managing the complex and large-scale QCH development.

“Having Dr Peter Steer present at the AIPM Conference in collaboration with Graeme McKenzie and Matt Skeen, clearly demonstrates the integrated strength of the client programme and project management team on this landmark scheme,” says John Mason , Global Leader Programme & Project Delivery.

“Across Aurecon, our fresh thinking and approach allows us to bring the most up to date industry wide programme and project management knowledge to projects like the QCH development and more broadly to a diverse client base across industries such as resources, transport, water, government, international development assistance and defence,” adds Mr Mason.

The QCH development is a highly complex commission which involves managing the complete programme of works. As programme director and project manager, Aurecon’s role extends through all phases, from master planning and project definition through to construction and commissioning. Strong collaboration between Queensland Health and Aurecon, and an effective approach to change and risk management, are critical to the success of this project.

Aurecon’s aim is to deliver whole of life infrastructure solutions to its clients. Drawing upon multidisciplinary capabilities, experienced and committed teams work closely with project stakeholders to develop solutions that consider the full project life cycle, are performance focused and based on well planned delivery strategies.

“On every project, we collaborate closely with our client to tailor our processes, procedures and systems to address specific client, programme and project needs,” says Susie Pearn, Aurecon’s Project Management Leader.

“We understand that critical to any project’s success is having a deep understanding of our client’s business,” adds Mr Mason.

As demonstrated by the QCH project, Aurecon’s Programme and Project Management services extend across all phases of a programme or project, from needs assessment, through master planning and project definition through to construction and commissioning, providing clients with truly integrated whole of life infrastructure solutions.

“On every project, our aim is to align our experienced teams with our clients’ needs, tailoring comprehensive solutions and delivering them efficiently. We bring innovation, transparency and reliability to each project we manage. Ultimately, we want to create a positive legacy for clients, stakeholders and communities at the conclusion of the project itself,” says Mr Mason.
