05 May 2014 - Aurecon will be at CORE (Conference on Railway Excellence) in Adelaide this week, Australasia's leading technical rail conference, presented on a non-commercial basis by the Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA), a Technical Society of Engineers Australia (EA) and Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ).
Running from 5-7 May, the theme for this year is “Rail Transport for a Vital Economy” - highlighting technological and other industry developments which are increasing and enhancing the effectiveness of rail in supporting economic development and wellbeing around the world.
Aurecon’s Joel Walsh will present a paper on utilising detailed supply chain modelling and simulation at early project concept stages to add value. Aurecon will be hosting clients and visitors at its ‘networking lounge’ throughout the three day event.
The following rail experts will attend from Aurecon –
John is a Technical Director at Aurecon and a civil engineer with over three decades of experience working on design of major rail and infrastructure projects in Australia. His experience covers all phases of projects from inception, project development/ business case through to detailed design and construction supervision, on light, urban passenger and freight rail projects. Recently, John has been identifying and developing a range of future projects which have been incorporated into Melbourne’s Metropolitan rail development plan.
Jason is a Senior Track and Civil Engineer with over 7 years experience.
He has been involved in the project planning and detailed design of major heavy and light rail projects around Australia.
Jason has gained experience in following design from concept phase through to construction to meet the client’s needs and expectations.
Joel has experience in civil and rail infrastructure design and logistics projects. This includes capacity modelling for both passenger/light and heavy haul rail operations. Through the use of rail simulation combined with rail engineering Joel has successfully delivered a multitude of complex projects for rail transport authorities such as Aurizon, ARTC, Melbourne Metro and rail authorities abroad such as Transnet in South Africa and Kiwi Rail in New Zealand.
Steve has over 30 years’ experience in the Transport sector and leads Aurecon’s Rail Systems team in NSW. He has extensive design management experience leading projects from feasibility through detailed design and construction design support, working in different procurement methods including D&C and alliancing arrangements.
Walter has over 15 years of engineering and transport industry experience. He has a diverse and proven track record in a range of areas including: senior organisational leadership; preparing business and asset management plans; successfully delivering large complex infrastructure projects; railway tunnels; transport operations and logistics; leading and providing organisational representation at RMA Hearings, Select Committees and Government Policy Review Committees; and, governance experience of large programmes of work.
Aaron is a senior civil engineer with vast technical experience in the detailed design and construction phase services for various rail and road projects throughout Queensland. Aaron has managed the design delivery of key infrastructure projects for both the public and private sectors.
